Gord Hopper Sports Consulting
After 30 years of leadership roles in the sport system, I am now in semi-retirement, taking on projects where I can make a meaningful impact. My flexible schedule allows me to manage the variable commitments of case management and special projects effectively.
After completing a Finance degree, my love of sport drew me back into the sport system. I have been the Technical Director for Gymnastics at the provincial level. I was the National Team Director for Canadian Freestyle Skiing and the Director of Athletics - Performance and Team Support for the University of British Columbia where I worked with 25 teams, as well as Interim Sr. Athletic Director at UBC.
Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to fostering safe and supportive environments in sports. I have developed a keen understanding of the unique challenges faced by athletes, coaches, and administrators. To have a healthy system, all roles need appropriate support and structure.
My journey in the sports industry has equipped me with a wealth of knowledge and a robust network of professional connections. I have always been passionate about promoting fair play, integrity, and excellence in sports, and these values continue to drive my consulting work.
I believe in the power of education and preventive strategies to enhance the overall sporting experience. My approach is collaborative and client-focused, ensuring that every project is tailored to meet the specific needs of the organization.
